Artists, cultural managers, journalists and campaign professionals were the participants of a meeting at the Cultural Institute of the Republic of Hungary, Slovakia to work out a plan of a common campaign helping to maintain a healthy Slovakian-Hungarian relationship. Jenő Hartyándi MEDIAWAVE festival director was also present to share his ideas.

 MEDIAWAVE Passport Control Staff ran shows featuring a mobile exhibition, a screening and a concert for highschool students to inform them about the opportunities of participating the multi-art festival and it’s related workshops either artists or organizers as well. The Passport Control tour had it’s first to visit the Krúdy Gyula Secondary Grammar School, Bilingual Secondary School and Vocational School for Tourism and Catering at Győr.

The MEDIAWAVE Foundation is now ready to accept applications if volunteers for participating in preparing and arranging MEDIAWAVE 2009. Young people, interested in getting familiar with organizing a music and film festival, and interested in film, photo and/or music are expected to apply.

The ad is primarly for those who live or study in Győr.

The Győr City Art Museum invites You and your friends to the opening ceremony of the exhibition titled „INPUT OUTPUT” by Zsófia Rechnitzer and Gergő Andorka. Opening speech interpreted by Ildikó Nagy (sculptor) at the Borsos-House (9021, Győr, Apor Vilmos püspök tere 2.) 5 PM, 22. November, 2008. The exhibition is available to visit till 23. December, 2008.

In the framework of MEDIAWAVE’2009, environmental NGOs are announcing a call for entry of those stationary and moblie, audiovisual or visual creations dealing with the environmental and social effects of climate change.

In Kehidakustány will be the NEW AGE Festival 2008. november 14-16. The MEDIAWAVE Passport Control film and photo workhop is a special guest on the festival.

Boogie-woogie and blues piano evening in Gyor at 2008. december 6. The young talent Balazs Daniel -Mr. Firehand- finished he's first CD. This eve he show in the songs and welcome  the Christoph Steinbach  (AUS) famous piano-, and Gyorgy Ferenczi (HUN), the herfly- and violin player.

Mediawave is a friendly festival for real. There is no sign of the business oriented attitude and suffocated crush, and mechanicalism of large festivals. It is most capable of what culture is for – connecting people. You may bump into an uygur dancer as well as into a kurd musician or a Canadian violincello player and even have a good talk with them about their art and performances. In addition Győr and its sorroundings provide such a venue for all this that one hardly wants to leave the scene ever.
