MEDIAWAVE: WE HAVE TO SHARE THE ONE AND ONLY PLANET TO LIVE ON!We have only one planet to live on! In the framework of MEDIAWAVE’2009, environmental NGOs are announcing a call for entry of those stationary and moblie, audiovisual or visual creations dealing with the environmental and social effects of climate change.
We have only one planet to live on! Due to the environmental pollution caused by human carelessness, the climate of Earth is changing. We are using up our ecological resources, while we forget we have Ökológiai tartalékainkat feléljük, s közben megfeledkezünk róla, hogy csak egy Földünk van. Do all we live on the same planet? One - quarter of the population of Earth uses three-quarters of its resources. Because of the climate change, even getting drinking water is an actually existing problem in vast parts of Earth.
We have to share the one and only planet to live on! According to the latest Red List of the International Union for Conservation of Nature (IUCN) published in October, 2008, 24% of mammal species, 12% of birds, 25% of reptiles, 20% of amphibian species, and 30% of fish species face extinction crisis as a results of climate change.

Greek filmmakers at the Passport Controll Summer WorkshopTwo Greek filmmakers will come to this year's Passport Controll - Summer Art Workshops and Community Gathering, to lead film workshop for students. Film director Karina Logothetis and sound designer Vasilis Zlatanos won the award for the Most Original Short Film at the 33rd edition of the Mediawave Film Festival this year, with their short fiction Pebble.
